Adebayo explained how there are two extant schools of thought about to what extent being against the actions of Israel's government specifically (or against Zionism in general) are or are not the same as being anti-Semitic.
For instance, the objection to the U.C. Berkeley Law School episode where students decided not to invite any pro-Israel speakers was argued against, in part, by stating that you cannot object to pro-Israel speakers without being antisemitic (https://jewishinsider.com/2022/12/dept-of-education-uc-berkeley-law-school-antisemitism-zionist-speakers-ban/). Specifically, "'Zionism is a core characteristic of the Jewish identity, and to discriminate based on someone’s core characteristic is a discrimination on that group,' Groisman told JI on Thursday."
I don't see how you can fault Adebayo for reporting this as an area of tension when it is, in fact, an area of tension.
