Again, why does "realistic" mean "what Peter Raktoe feels makes intuitive sense"?
All I hear you saying is, "Things on massive space and energy scales should work just like the things right here in my hands."
Well, it's a good place to start, but if it doesn't fit the observations, then something else is needed.
(The experiments confirming gravitational waves are some of the most impressive in all of experimental physics, and that we got the amplitude dynamics pretty much right is a powerful testament to the accuracy of a whole bunch of theories that you're belittling as "not realistic".)
