An airburst artillery shell (or any sort of artillery shell, really) doesn't match the inferno on the ground, though. There was a lot of fire and not very much explosive force compared to what you'd expect from an essentially concussive and/or shrapnel-producing weapon.
One who rejoices when everything is made as simple as possible, but no simpler. Sayer of things that may be wrong, but not so bad that they're not even wrong.
