Anthropomorphizing aids understanding, as we're evolved to interact heavily with other humans.

This is the better language. It is the language that we humans can understand. And that is the point of science, after all: to better understand things. When it is relevant, more precise non-intentional language is used (for instance, when debating different theories of how a particular feature became fixed in the population).
