Architecture is the field where we think about what we would like to build. Philosophy of mind is the field where we think about the mind.
Physics constrains what is possible, so architects that want to design something real, as opposed to coming up with fantasy, need to constrain their ideas to what is consistent with physics.
Cognitive science also constrains what is possible, so philosophers of mind who want to think about the mind in reality, as opposed to coming up with fantasy, need to constrain their ideas to what is consistent with cognitive science.
(Physics constraints are far sharper and far more unyielding than cognitive science constraints for now.)
