Are you seriously claiming that there is not a substantial subset of the rural United States that does not believe in all of: God, self-reliance, patriotism, gender norms, and fighting when necessary?
If so, are you sure you're a rural American?
Pluralus never said that the Republican party had done great things for rural Americans. He's only making the claim that the progressive left is approaching rural America with a culturally imperialistic attitude. He could make the point without reference to any actual rural beliefs at all because it really only depends on the attitude of the progressive left and their (largely urban) perceptions of what rural America is like.
Did Pluralus maybe use too broad of a brush in saying "Rural families" without caveat instead of "Many rural families" or "Typically, rural families" or somesuch? Yeah. It's fair to ding him for that. But only that.
