Are you using a solely ad hominem attack because you realize that anyone who can reason will realize you have no case to make? Or because you're happy to look foolish to people who know what they're doing and use methods to retain good judgment, so long as you can be popular among those less careful who are more easily swayed? Or just because hate is fun, and you felt like having some fun?

It's certainly not because it's too much effort, unless you don't know what you're talking about. A decent counterargument would have taken a third of the length that you spend on personal attacks.
