Being grossly inhumane, having callous indifference towards civilians, or even committing war crimes, doesn't make something genocidal.
Without actually seeing the statements, I'm skeptical that Finkelstein is doing a competent job at deciding what is genocidal. I'm perfectly happy to be convinced, but I do need to be convinced.
You didn't address my point at all. If genocide was the goal, Israel could have done it far faster with far less pain to its own side.
I'm very perturbed by Israel's actions, but that doesn't grant me license to make up whatever thing sounds most horrid about their objectives. It also doesn't absolve Hamas for its responsibility in precipitating the deaths of so many.
