Is it the violence-enforced hegemonic hierarchical structure, which needn't have anything to do with men, that Elle Beau loves to talk about? Is it literally the idea that men are the head of the family and the important descent is through the male line? Is it men being in positions of power of whatever sort they are with women excluded? All three? Some mixture?
