But this doesn't work when you're arguing a difference in kind. Or are you not? Is "subjective" and "objective" all the same thing with different degrees of universal predictive power?

Otherwise, if there's a qualitative difference between subjective and objective knowledge, I don't see how you get there from a "difference in emphasis" (i.e. a quantitative difference).
