Can you recommend a text that gives a good defense of Critical Theory? Every time I try to read anything on it, I very rapidly end up faced with a morass of logical fallacies (assuming the consequent, excluded middle, etc.)--sometimes disguised in eloquent language, but that in itself is a fallacy of sorts (a type of argument from authority).
I've also read Tara Ella's works and they sound consistent to me with what I've read of Critical Theory directly, but honestly, I can't say I've given Critical Theory a good try because everything I've tried either skirts around the central aspects of how Critical Theory is different from garden-variety thinking things through, or is too awash in problems for me to tolerate it for very long.
