Could you please explain the reasoning of the actual virologists to me? I am well-versed in biology. I promise that my eyes won't glaze over if you talk about rates of incorporation from the host genome, phylogenetic trees of viral sequences, or any of the rest.

While I haven't followed it closely, my impression was that people's eyes glazed over and said virologists had debunked it over and over, when in fact the evidence is mostly pretty murky.

(Virologists have debunked some of the more outlandish specific claims, but that is different than debunking the entire category of "lab leak".)
