CRT authors have not done a great job at avoiding controversial statements, though. If you start sounding like you want to end Western values, some people might believe you, and might think that despite its problems, fixing what we've got is better than any alternative.

"...critical race theory questions the very foundations of the liberal order, including equality theory, legal reasoning, Enlightenment rationalism, and neutral principles of constitutional law." (Critical Race Theory, an Introduction, 3rd ed.; Delgado & Stefancic, 2017).

Not that the right wing has mostly bothered to quote stuff like that, but it sure makes your "it's just a trojan horse" point harder to argue. Anyone with some time and motivation can find plenty of quotes for which what you write here is a weak defense at best, and which makes some of their claims seem more plausible.
