"Deprecated" means "we now know this isn't a good way to do things, so when we find it in use we should phase it out". It's a term from software engineering.

ELI5 is "explain it like I'm five".

So my point is: if we need to give simpleminded explanations for why we need to consider multiple factors, we can use intersectionality. Otherwise, multiple regression is what we should use.

------

The "same idea" that I referred to was the one that was introduced in the previous sentence: multiple regression.

You're welcome to (try to) critique rationalism! It's hard to do without being self-refuting, hypocritical, or both, at least to an extent.

My point was just that one's views on retiring intersectionality need not depend on the success or failure of the effort to critique rationalism. (Or the other things I mentioned.)

-----

When I say "our views on individualism", I mean the views widely found in society--the ones that form the context within which we understand and implement things like an appreciation for intersectionality.

------

Intersectionality is a sloppy qualitative version of multiple regression. One should just use the latter.
