Do you have references for this (prior to the aid convoy thing--I think we need to wait a few more days to see if verifiable details are forthcoming)? I haven't found any cases which check out. They have told people to shelter in places that they were bombing less rather than not at all.
What's the clearest case of Israel policy being targeting civilians (using military weaponry) that you know of? Not an accident, not something that's plausibly also targeting Hamas, not a random soldier or commander taking out their anger on civilians, not some ultra-right-wing wacko who has no dirrect influence on the IDF's actions spouting hatred.
The civilian casualties are terrible even if one can't find a single compelling instance of this. There is still a very good argument that the initial campaign was far far too callous, and that the current campaign is far too callous (it's seemingly gotten less bad, though; progress, but not enough). There's a lot to criticize that is completely inarguable--hitting apartment blocks with hundreds of civilians (which has absolutely happened) is atrocious even if it was an accident or if there was a military target there also. Bombing hospitals, even ones with Hamas bases underneath, is also atrocious.
But you've been saying that we need to be careful with our language. Yours is exactly the sort of statement that tends to make anyone more pro-Israel--even if they view the war's humanitarian catastrophe as avoidable--tune out and dismiss everything you have to say as coming from a place of bias and/or hatred, so it's good to be able to back it up in full and show that you say so because it's actually what's happening, not because you're predisposed to interpret things in an extremely negative anti-Israel way, or have been misled by people who speak from a position of bias and hatred.
