Don't be silly! You're unlikely to base your values heavily on either the realities of life today or the dictates of Hebrew priests millenia ago.
You are much more likely to base them on moral intuitions refined over millions of years of our evolutionary history.
On the one hand, that's great, because a lot of the stupid got selected out.
On the other hand, that's terrible, because the realities of life today are sometimes really different from those of our evolutionary history, and in those cases the intuitions are no better equipped to handle the modern situation than is our food preference system able to handle abundant inexpensive refined sugar.
