Economic class is an attribute of people, and dividing people along any attribute is dividing people.
Whether or not you call it a social identity is irrelevant. Somehow you have taken a bunch of people; somehow you have divided them.
Of course nobody wants anyone else to rise up and confront them; that is hardly unique to the bourgeois and the proletariat. But you seem to think that it's cool when the working class confronts the elite instead of the, say, traditionally disadvantaged groups confronting the whites.
I do not think this attitude should be assumed to be justified. I would like to see an argument that spells out in detail why one confrontation is good and the other is bad, if this is what you believe.
