Also, Franklin did not "make the breakthrough discovery" in anything, though at several points she contributed some key data or insights (as did many people, and yes, she does have claim to be in the top tier of those who did). Watson decided to make it seem like it could be spun that way to make a more engaging story. Also, it wasn't genetics at all, but structure.
