Fighting bad arguments with other bad arguments doesn't make anyone more right for good reasons. The effectiveness of the strategy is unrelated to its truth value, which means following this type of strategy on balance leaves us all farther from anything that could be labeled "truth" (i.e. a well-validated model of the world). In contrast, if we foster a culture of believing things for good reasons, we'll all be better informed and laboring under fewer delusions.
Anyway, "biologically, women seem to imprint genes to promote smarter children" can be spun into a validation of a regressive stance (if the other regressive parts aren't challenged), so it's a bit risky to use even as a "bad argument" even if the feel of it is kind of in the de-repressive direction.
