Given the rates of depression and suicidal thoughts among gender-typical teens in the United States, it's quite clear that what we've been doing as a society as a whole is harmful.
So I'm not assuming anything of the sort. You're assuming I'm assuming, but I'm not. I'm just objecting to the idea that we know that agendered child rearing won't be (additionally) harmful.
But as you say: we don't know if it's better; we don't know if it's worse. The claim was that we did know. That was all I was objecting to.
(It might be better or worse but we don't find out for quite some time if we don't bother to study it carefully, however. We're not guaranteed to find out. We have to want to know the answer.)
