But maybe you can tell me which RCP (or SSP) has, even in the models with the highest ECS, temperatures reaching 40C at the south pole? (Hint: sure isn't RCP8.5 or SSP5-8.5.)

And if not, maybe you can rephrase this not as an existential threat? It's bad enough if you stick to the plausible consequences.
