Haha, touché...but, substantively, you reacted as if I said to ignore the content when I said nothing of the sort. That's where the straw is. Or you can call it the fallacy of the excluded middle, I suppose.

Either way, the alternative is to dismiss it as rubbish, briefly and factually, right there, where people will see it, and be done with it. No big fuss.

Elevating particularly stupid comments, talking about them remote from the place where they come up (leaving it largely unchallenged where it matters) makes it seem like they're worthy of serious consideration and need a favorable audience to win the argument. Seriously giving way way too much power to dumb ideas.

Of course they should be challenged. You're doing the opposite. You're making them seem like a worthy opponent.
