Haha, yeah, that was a pretty ironic messup. I'd have thought Medium would have some sort of technological measures in place to prevent these sorts of transmission error issues.

Anyway, I intentionally created a strawman argument for illustrative purposes. The reason is that it highlights the weak points in the flow of the argument, and although you don't actually make that argument, the form of your arguments is close enough to be problematic.

I've come across plenty of stories that alleged racism where there certainly was none. Police violence stories where the race of the target was assumed, for instance: I've seen police killings called racist until it turned out that, oops, the victim was white; and I've seen people decry the unequal treatment of a violent perpetrator who was taken into custody instead of being shot until, oops, it turned out that the suspect was black. But there are also stories and events where racism was a virtual certainty. And others which are unclear. And statistics which tell a more comprehensive type of story, one cares to listen carefully.

The bottom line is that if you want to point out cases where racism wasn't a factor, but you don't seem to know about cases where it is, or maybe can't see them, people should rightfully wonder whether you're just blind to the issue.
