Hahaha, this, in response to a post saying that I do not block people as a matter of principle.
We spent a very long time not arguing about my point, which (in response to some disheartened man's comment on one of her articles) was that "Man Box" is kind of a dismissive/demeaning term to use if you're trying to generate an appealing alternative for people already predisposed to be wary of feminist ideas, and it quickly developed into a further claim (because Elle was insisting that the term was a very good one) that the Equimundo study did not demonstrate that it was a box (indeed, it demonstrates that it is not a box), so it isn't even named properly--but that's what I was trying to discuss. I forget what all the other stuff was.
So, right prior to when she blocked me, I forget which point I was making--something where I was asking for evidence that would support some overly grandiose claim about society; I forget what I was asking for because I've asked her a variety of things and almost never gotten a thoughtful, scholarly reflection on the actual state of evidence. Maybe it was the degree of documentation we have on the range of level of violence in pre-patriarchal societies or something of the sort?
