Hang on. You seem to be affirming that indeed, allies will mess up and lose social capital, and too bad, they just have to suck it up and take it? From the people they're trying to help (and other allies)?

Something seems seriously awry with that picture.

You build a just and compassionate society out of people acting justly and compassionately. Attacking people's social capital when they mess up doesn't sound particularly just and it certainly doesn't sound compassionate.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting and you meant something else?
