I can find a bunch of unreferenced rumors of this, and I can find a bunch of studies that are neither particularly authoritative nor do they consistently support this, and when I asked LLMs they authoritatively hallucinated citations that don't exist.
Or do you just mean the following: "Hi, men, I'm here in Tribe Woman and I am attacking you and all of your fellow men in Tribe Man." If that's the setup--provoking a tribal response as the first step--then no citation needed. There have been plenty of studies showing that in-group suggestions are viewed way more favorably than out-group suggestions. It doesn't matter very much what the labels are. Greens might not always be completely blameless, but let's face it, purples are more likely to listen to other purples.
