How do you account for the merely moderate differences in impressions of race and racism in, for instance, https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/theres-still-a-huge-partisan-gap-in-how-americans-see-discrimination/?

(tl;dr: 22% of Republicans and 12% of Democrats report a negative impression of blacks as a group; a bit less for Latinos; less yet for Asians; the same numbers but flipped for whites.)

I would have expected a much bigger difference from taking your statements at face value. (Again, this isn't saying that there isn't racism; indeed, the study says that quite a few Republicans and Democrats too pretty much admit that they are prejudiced against racial groups as a whole!)
