Maybe the present progressive tense isn't entirely warranted if one is living very much in the moment because the effort has past, but if one thinks on a larger scale about contemporary trends, present progressive is perfectly reasonable. Certainly not something that warrants calling it misinformation. (Maybe "not as clear as it should be" is a fair critique.)
