I agree in general, but when it comes to the specific questions relevant to abortion, a lot of the insistence and a lot of the debate uses relatively easily disproven claims about the nature of things.

It would be good to have a proper debate and see if one is still mired in metaphysical conundrums. We can create such conundrums for murder, too, but we don't let them worry us much when it comes to deciding that in at least the overwhelming majority of cases it's wrong.
