I completely agree--if we believe in a changed curriculum we should talk about it out in the open.
As a corollary, when people call this stuff "Critical Race Theory", we should just shrug and after saying, "Well, not really, but some of the ideas were partly developed there," we should get on to the actual topic.
If we can't talk about it, people will believe falsehoods and oppose teaching things that make sense to teach. And if we can't talk about it, what we teach will be poorly conceived and probably partly wrong. The attention and discussion is vital.
