I don't quite see the problem. Avi is a woman-lifter as defined. It's not just making a point. He actually is a woman-lifter under the rules. No pretending, no trickery; Avi is the real deal. Anyone else who wants to enter the competition can do so using the same rules.
The problem with accepting the validity of lifts is that we said we drew a particular category, and then changed the rules. We literally did change the rules. If they're more permissive, that's not fair to the people who competed under the old rules.
There's nothing intrinsically wrong with weightlifting competitions segregated by body weight or hemoglobin concentration or whatever else, but if the 80-90 kg body weight category is suddenly widened to 80-100 kg, that's hardly fair to the record-holder.
