I don't see how the logic works for this.
We can't settle decisively exactly how fast anthropogenic warming will happen or how it will affect the earth's ecosystems, so...actions taken to deal with it have to be done as a matter of individual conscience?! What?!
If we believe that our experts or our collective wisdom is better than random then how does it follow that the right thing to do is randomize it by leaving it up to the feelings of non-expert people individually?
Simply being hard to answer doesn't make something religious. Religions contain specific beliefs and some of those beliefs in some religions do bear on the question of abortion, and none of those are valid to use as reasons for government restriction.
But we still don't allow infanticide, and that's equally religious of a question too.
