I don't think this is a good story for people on the fence. This is a good story for people who are already way inside the pasture and think the grass on the other side is awful.

The reason is that if you're on the fence, the story is liable to read like this:

Angry black woman thinks it matters that white teacher is white. White teacher brushes off racial stereotpying of self and has got this, because teacher prides self on focusing on race of student rather than only the individual challenges of student regardless of race.

Can't you come up with a better story? This looks more like a case of racial prejudice of the parent, followed up by indulgence of this behavior by you. "When someone is racially prejudiced at me, CRT shows me to shut up and take it because I'm white!" is hardly a ringing endorsement of CRT.

If you want to tell an anecdote that shows the value of centering race for someone who is uncertain, it needs to be one where there is a clear injustice or a clear unmet need that is addressed by focusing on race.

Critically, since the CRT-maligned color-blind alternative is not indifference to people but attention to everyone's individual situation, you need to point out where that's inadequate.
