I don't think your rephrasing gets to the heart of the matter. Don't you see the brilliance of getting people who might otherwise tacitly accept racism to go clearly on the record repudiating the merest whiff of it?

(Also, I don't think DiAngelo lumps herself in with CDF; she's all about Whiteness studies. Rufo did the lumping, and despite DiAngelo being well-versed in Critical Discourse Analysis, it seems that Rufo's succeeded at his relabeling gambit. I guess he's well-versed in Critical Discourse Manipulation.)
