Also, the premise that nobody would help is, I think, at best very context-dependent. I haven't found a study that specifically looks at intervening in male-female violence by gender of bystander, but when considering altercations overall, men intervene at considerably higher rates: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ab.21853
So even if you carry the disjunction all the way through, given the above, women dispositionally hate everyone too (unless you have solid evidence that they intervene considerably more--I can't find any), so the point is being made about humans while saying "men", which is divisive and unhelpful.
