I generally agree with you, but this is getting really close to advocating for a specific act of violence: kill the next racist, homophobic, transphobic speaker who shows up on campus. If you want to have a scholarly discussion about when mob or individual "justice" to murder the (perceived-to-be) vile is appropriate, sure, have at it. If you want to point that cancel culture can be counterproductive, awesome, let's hear it. Saying that murder is admirable and not necessarily illegal, in a context when there are constant opportunities to act on this idea? Ehmm...
