I largely agree, and was going to point out some slightly different perspectives, but I think I'm not quite calibrated properly. To help get me aligned, if you don't mind, can you mention briefly what you think of the Haitian revolution (1791-1804) and the years immediately following it?

Also what you think of al-Qaeda (bin Laden version, with his justifications), and the Tigray counteroffensive in 2021? If you aren't familiar with all of that, it's fine, but I'm trying to figure out where/whether you draw certain kinds of distinctions that seem relevant to what I perceive as me having not-quite-the-same-perspective.
