I like the approach you're taking here, but it's more effective if you point at studies yourself that you think are particulary compelling (either because they show that the problem is very bad, or because they seem very hard to argue with).

Here's one as a starter, one of a variety of papers that show that your prospects for getting a job or being well-paid in your job are poorer if you have a black-sounding name: https://www.nber.org/papers/w9873

Though to be fair, more recent research has shown a smaller effect (i.e. it seems that anti-racism policies may be working to address hiring disparity...or maybe it's just that the old racists are retiring and no longer driving selection very much...or maybe some other factor).

Anyway, yes, ask people to look at studies! But it's best if you can give people a starter kit!
