I sent everyone a message, not just you. And the intent was not to belittle your words but point out that there was another perspective to consider. Out of politeness, I addressed it to you, but wrote for a more general audience.
The reason I mentioned "discussion" is that these sorts of things can lead to a discussion if there are arguments and counterarguments. You structured your reply in the style of a counterargument, but without really addressing what I said, so I was explaining that I wasn't going to treat this as a discussion, in case you were.
The reason I mentioned perfection was not because you claimed perfection, but I gave examples of what I considered to be imperfection and you acknowledged none of them, and made statements none of which indicated any failings of DEI whatsoever but only in those who might criticize it. So you presented an attitude of perfection. Of course it was intended to be somewhat provocative, but that's because your reply was also.
Anyway, we've established that it's not a discussion, but I offer these clarifications to you and others who are interested.
