We have many standards to revise because the protocol in this country is all wrong. And, we must acknowledge them all by their severity.

I think this is a critically important insight. Too often it seems that either attention to one issue drowns out all others; or that minor issues and dire ones are treated the same way.

However, it brings up a question that I don’t have an answer to — one which is if anything made more difficult by the amplifying echo-chamber of social media: How do we measure or rank the severity? How do we do it in a way that seems sufficiently accurate to a large enough segment of the population such that we can collectively act on the results, despite the widely varying experiences each of us have?

Or do you have an alternate idea for how to proceed?
