I think you've taken exactly the opposite message from the great push towards equality over the last couple hundred years. Usually it's interpreted as viewing everyone as a fully valid individual and giving them the benefit of the doubt whenever possible.

But you have a different view.

"Now we can be rampantly suspicious of every group, stereotype and demonize everyone based upon the negative qualities exhibited by some members of the group, and not trust them until they prove themselves individually!" is indeed a statement of equality.

I give you full marks for consistency! Not sure this is any way to run a stable society, though.
