I would try to sway Nazis to recognize the horrors they were perpetrating, so I would absolutely not retreat into my own echo chamber, patting myself on the back for being so noble as to cease to try to have any positive impact on the situation.

The more horrific and dangerous their actions seemed, the less likely I would be to withdraw. I suppose that if they seemed unpleasant but inconsequential, maybe I would so as to spare my time to try to sway someone more impactful.

Be reasonable, but firm. Humanize those who disagree, but stand for what is right. Engage. This is the position of those who care for a just and humane outcome.
