If that is your argument, though, you need to actually make it. You can't just assume.

Especially since it seems like Trump drives the party more than vice versa these days. (E.g. bipartisan border security bill--dead, because Trump wanted it dead. Of course, this kind of defeats the idea that Democrats (or Biden/Harris) are bad on border security, but for this point it makes the argument harder.)
