In 2021 Elon Musk paid more tax (in absolute dollar value) than anyone ever. In some other years he's paid none. The tax comes through very unevenly because of regulations regarding exercise of stock options and how they're taxed, but it's completely wrong to say that he "doesn't pay tax".
