In an otherwise fairly well-argued piece against authoritarian measures used against students, this stands out as a ludicrous excuse. You wrote over 700 words, and yet you can't spare 108 more (or 50 more, if you leave off "age X") to honor all of those slain in the service of justice?

Why would you want to send the message that the death of people of some races is more troubling than deaths of others? This is just racial bigotry. Whether it's genuine elevation of black lives over other lives, or a ploy that you think will play well to an audience that is used to focusing on black lives because they are the ones being unjustly endangered, you should reconsider.

Say everyone's name, or say no-one's.

Otherwise, who is to say that Palestinian lives aren't the less important ones, like those who you elect not to name on ethnic grounds?
