Indeed she did. And as you tell us, President Gay's answer was...um...wait, you didn't tell us Gay's answer. That's odd.
Here's a good answer to a question like that: "Let me be clear: Calls for violence or genocide against the Jewish community, or any religious or ethnic group are vile, they have no place at Harvard, and those who threaten our Jewish students will be held to account."
And who gave that clear, firm repudiation of antisemitism, one that can be quoted with pride? Why, that was President Gay!
Except it wasn't what she said at the hearing in response to that question. That came with the benefit of hindsight.
