It is important to be exceedingly well-informed and polite, however. Simply declaring yourself as part of the outgroup does nothing to save society or the people caught in purity-tribes.

If you can't be both, it's probably wiser to remain silent, both for one's own sake, but also because an easily-met challenge will strengthen group cohesion, and the problem is that group cohesion is protecting bad ideas.
