It's hard to think of a more misleading way to present this information. And as such this is a good example of why people don't see news outlets as trustworthy: knowing that they ought not lie outright (not too often, anyway), they nonetheless are all too often happy to present an extraordinarily misleading view of the situation.

(Technically "is still going" is wrong enough to be judged a lie, because that implies that the warming at the end of the Younger Dryas is still going--but it's not, because after about a thousand years of global temperature increase, it flattened out and has been essentially flat for the last 10,000 years. Warming stopped. It fluctuated up and down but there was no overall "warming" for ~10k years. Human-caused global warming is its own separate event.)

You make a lot of good points, but this was a terrible way to try to make this one. Without getting your facts straight--and that, yes, can require a lecture--you have no basis by which to judge whether government interventions are advisable.
