It's possible to take an Afrocentric approach to the study of history (which can be valuable!), but unfortunately what has come to be known as "Afrocentrism" is marred by very shoddy scholarship and heaping doses of wishful thinking.
Also, the Confederacy-apologists often present repeatedly debunked nonsense as if it were fact. You really don't want equal time with Confederacy-apologists and historical realists (i.e. "actual historians"). You want an impartial approach to the history of the Confederacy.
