Largely true, but TaraElla's piece helps pull the other way, by seeking bridges to rather than raising ramparts against the "other side".

The left hasn't kept up with an intellectual approach either, in the absence of a robust challenge from the right. (C.f. "speaking my truth"--same idea, just with leftist rather than rightist framing.)

So I think it's worthwhile to try.
